Android Vs Apple iOS

The Android vs Apple debate has been raging for a long time and it's never been bigger. For a long time, Apple was the reigning king of smartphones. Whether it's the simplistic yet beautiful hardware or their efficient software, Apple left most of its competitors way behind. But that was certainly squeezing Google. So, as we all know, led to the evolution of Android. The mighty operating system that has risen in popularity has surpassed many of the big fish and is proving to be a strong competitor to Apple and has resulted in a virtual war of Android versus Apple iOS.

Most people are confused between this Android vs Apple scenario when buying a smartphone these days. I've seen people in stores pestering the salespeople about whether to go for Apple or Android, giving Android versus Apple more fire. Most of you must have gone through the charts showing Android gaining market share and Apple with nowhere to go but down. Well, it's all true folks. Recent official trends suggest that while Apple holds quite a share of the market share, it could be quite the opposite in a few years. Most of the reasons cited for Android's rapid growth are obvious, to say the least. Be it open source OS, a vast majority of app developers, mobile phone manufacturers providing free hardware and what not. Everything, in the raging war between Apple and Android, seems to be getting in the way of Android!

Let's take a closer look at who wins in the battle between Android and Apple:

1. Proprietary vs open source operating system

Apple controls its own rights on its iOS. This has proven to be a boon for Google's Android. Android is free and open source, which means anyone can view and modify the code. This has resulted in a huge portion of the application coder population opting for or switching to Android.

2. The apps

Although Google claims that its Android Market is expanding massively and what not, but the reality is that it is currently nowhere near Apple's App Store. Personally, I would also like to point out that the most popular Android apps are actually already famous on iOS and are therefore being transported to another platform. I don't think there's an app that has been transported from Android to Apple due to its popularity.

3. The equipment

Personally, I'm a fan of Apple's hardware. The way they manage to simplify design and instill elegance in every device is an achievement in itself. But they have also kept their prices quite higher than a normal user as I would like to see. So here comes the Android, with companies like LG and Samsung literally providing hardware for free to anyone interested. And if you're willing to spend a little more, you could probably get your hands on a device that could make the geniuses at Apple salivate!

4. App developers

This is another crucial factor. Apple's app developers are having a hard time uploading their apps in the app store as they have to go through all the checks and what not. On the other hand, Google has stated that Android developers are free to post their apps on Android Market. Hence, more and better apps are on the way for Android users.

So, in the war of Android vs Apple - Advantage Android

Considering all the above factors, I can confidently say that Android has a very bright future and in the war between Android and Apple iOS, Android will be the winner.
